No one ever speaks of the transition into motherhood. Like I was, most new moms are caught up in the color of the nursery or which zippy new stroller to register for. Seriously, my OB should have brought in a psychologist during one of my many visits to her in the 9 months leading to the birth of my daughter to prepare me. Emotionally and physically this transition into motherhood has been a roller coaster of a ride.
After two years I am finally starting to accept a new "normal". I am discovering a new "me" while trying to hold on to pieces of the old. Hence the title of this blog, Couture (the old me) and Crayons (the new me).
A city girl at heart, I married a cowboy. He is rugged and rough around the edges; a hunter and fisherman, he can put food on the table if there was a catastrophic disaster. I can safely say our bellies will be full if the myth of 2012 is true. Together we brought into this world a beautiful spit fire of a daughter. She brings me more joy than a Chanel Quilted Jumbo(gasp!!). Lucky for me she is already embracing couture.
