The Look For Less: Hunter Welly

Mother nature is still a little skitzo; threatening thunder showers. I do love that we actually have seasons. It gives me the opportunity to wear great hats and boots. But never did I think I would own a pair of rain boots. Classic Uggs are pretty much useless in the rain and snow. Rain boots have become a fun trend. Jimmy Choo and Hunter capitalized on this trend and put out a croc embossed rain boot. I just can't fathom spending a whopping $425 on a rain boot. I don't even want to spend $100+ for regular wellies. Enter the Urban Outfitters embossed croc rain boot. For $38 I can justify the purchase and the purchase has served me well. The Hunter fleece inserts keep my tootsies warm and some might even assume that these UO copycat version to be the real deal Hunter Welly. Maybe...maybe not. Who cares, I think they are just as cute. Shop the look for less below.

The outfit is nothing too exciting. We are getting ready for a neighborhood garage sale (more on that later.) I am just trying to get organized and hopefully make some extra dough in the process. The military jacket is by a brand called Ambition from Macy's. This brand usually has great jackets for petites. The vintage inspired scarf, I think, is from H&M. The jeans, Vigoss from BP Nordstrom. Hate to cut it short, but I gotta get back to garage sale prep, see you cats tomorrow.

Lookbook: Back of the Closet

{Dress & Belt: Forever 21, Boots: Frye Dorado}

Just a real quick post. I swear the day flies by when you have to chauffeur a toddler around to all her activities.

I bought this plaid and ruffle number last year from Forever 21. Tag still attached, it was hanging way in the back of the closet. What the heck, I threw it on and....oh yeah this is cute. The dress came with a black cloth belt which was totally useless, so I paired it with a more substantial belt. The belt is Forever 21 too, but a total Linea Pelle copy. Why would I want to spend $200 on a belt when I can get the same exact look for $7, no brainer. I don't do handbag knockoffs, but belts, who would ever know? Never rule out a nice suede boot for the Spring. The Frye Dorado riding boot is my favorite boot. So versatile and comfortable. I love that it looks like I've had and loved them forever. That's it for now kids, I'll be back tomorrow!

A River Runs Through It

Colorado is known for being one of the most active states. I'm a city girl at heart and I normally wouldn't be out on a trail or climbing over boulders and rocks to get to a fishing spot, but when you have a kid you gotta get out there so that she gets to experience all there is to learn about nature. It was a glorious day yesterday and we set out for a fishing excursion. Hubby is a true outdoorsman and fly fishing is one of his pastimes. It only took us 3 hours to get out the door, an hour at the fish & tackle store for supplies, including a mini fishing rod for the princess, all for an enjoyable 1 hour of fishing. All in all it was nice quality family time. Camping may be next up. Oye...
